Description
Head lifted, eyes shut, ears hanging almost to the ground - the pose of a dog mid-howl or mid-daydream, depending on how you read him. The body settles low with the planting well behind the shoulders, and the ears do most of the work: two long soft sweeps that give the whole piece its shape.
Boba hand-casts each one in artisan cement and finishes it by hand. The antique gold is deep and warm with the highlights rubbed along the muzzle and ears; the pearl white is pale and faintly iridescent, picking up lilac and buttermilk as the light moves. Every puppy is coloured on its own, so each has its own markings.
Plant him with something upright and cheerful behind those ears - a small crested succulent or a cluster of sempervivum works well. A soft-hearted gift for a dog person.
